Charleston’s newest app is changing the way we communicate with local businesses

Wystle lets customers text take-out restaurants, salons, dog groomers & more

November 7, 2017: Charleston, SC: A new B2C app has just launched in Charleston, South Carolina. Wystle is an easy-to-use text messaging platform that lets customers chat with businesses at the touch of a button.

Founded by local entrepreneurs James Patenaude and John DeWitte, Wystle is the fastest and easiest way to manage B2C communication.

As both a business owner and consumer, Patenaude noticed a huge customer service opportunity via texting.

Says Patenaude, “As a customer, I was frustrated with having to call stores on the phone. Calls felt like a waste of time…ringing, being put on hold, and waiting for someone to check on something. I wanted to create one central place where customers could message all of our favorite businesses, and where businesses could stay in direct contact with their customers.”

Pew Internet data shows that texting is the most widely and frequently-used app on a smartphone, with 97% of Americans using it at least once a day. According to research by Adobe, 98% of texts are opened (compared to just 20-30% for email). With Wystle, businesses can leverage the ease and popularity of texting to improve customer service and increase loyalty and sales.

Wystle enables businesses to respond to messages quickly through the web or mobile app, route messages to the appropriate employee, track customer feedback and employee response time, send automated after-hours responses, view message history, and track trends to improve responses over time.

Customers simply download the free mobile app, locate participating businesses, and then message them from within the app.

“From one app, everyone can text salons, restaurants, auto shops, pet services and more to place orders, book appointments, and get answers to their questions faster than ever,” says Patenaude.

Nearly 250 local businesses are active in the app already, including Kudzu Bakery, LowCountry Clippers, and K9 Trail Blazers. Wystle is available on iTunes and Google Play. Businesses interested in signing up can visit: https://www.wystle.com/.
