Role Summary

This is a newly created role at a rapidly growing, well-funded startup in the global manufacturing technology space.  This person will have the perfect blend of business and technical acumen, with a self-starter mentality to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Reports To: CEO

Essential Responsibilities

Voice of customer – understand and analyze customer needs and buyer persona
Voice of sales – gather feedback on use cases, selection criteria and functionality required
Segmentation and targeting – document and communicate high-level business requirements for each market, service or segment
Value proposition – develop clear and compelling persona based value propositions that address customer outcomes
Portfolio roadmap – provide input to and coordinate cross-functionally to align organization; including high-level business requirements and prioritization criteria to cluster ideas and opportunities into logical product releases to the product management team
Go-to-market – develop GTM strategy and plan, including sales enablement, sales and partner activation plans for portfolio; work cross functionally with field marketing on execution of GTM plan
Develop and lead digital marketing and SEO strategy.
Content – lead and execute compelling content development for marketing campaigns to promote product/service portfolio
Sales enablement – design and deliver information, content and tools in a prescriptive manner that aligns to the buyer’s journey (sales playbook, demo, target customer lists, first call decks, etc.)
Story telling – demonstrated ability to generate compelling stories and possess the innate ability to make the complex simple
Benchmarking – maintain competitive fact base; including competitor size, successes, product offerings, positioning, price structure, etc.
Brand – Ensure all aspects of business are on brand, consistent, focused on customer outcomes, and employ best marketing practices
Project management – work with marketing, sales, technology, operations, communications and customer service teams to ensure product initiatives around new releases are launched effectively and on-time
Lead small team that covers SEO, social, and event planning

Basic Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field from an accredited university or college
A minimum of 5 – 10+ years of professional experience in strategic marketing, product marketing, portfolio or brand marketing, or equivalent
Experience with SaaS business model OR experience in marketing for the industrial manufacturing market

Eligibility Requirements

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job

Must be willing to relocate and work out of an office located in Charleston, SC
