To kick off DIG SOUTH’s venture and demo day, there were several pitch competitions designed to bring attention to budding startups throughout the Southern states. Between Cohort 5 and Wild Pitch, Scholarship Systems and Good Done Great took home their respective wins.
During Wild Pitch, Good Done Great was chosen by a panel of three judges based concept, revenue, market fit, and other factors that make it an investable startup. There was also a secondary voting component that relied on attendees choosing their favorite startup; however, in the last seconds prior to the announcement, Good Done Great took that win as well.
Good Done Great took home more than $10K in cash and prizes.
Cohort 5 Winner: The Scholarship System
For the past few years, Harbor Entrepreneur Center has hosted the Harbor Accelerator program. The accelerator, designed to build scalable businesses for the Charleston region, culminated after a four-month program as the startups in Cohort 5 pitched their ideas to DIG SOUTH attendees. The Scholarship System took home the win, with StockAid and Wavve as runner ups.
The Scholarship System is a program for students and families to learn the necessary steps to pay for college without taking out student loans.
