Charleston, South Carolina is now home to a new entrepreneurial community specifically for women business owners.
The Eves Collective is a boutique workspace that offers private offices and dedicated desks for women to create, build, and grow their businesses alongside one another. Featuring a large conference room, three fully-furnished private offices, four large dedicated desks, and a full kitchen, the space is designed to cultivate community, connections, and support for women entrepreneurs and freelancers who may feel isolated working from home or in conventional workspaces.
Belinda Hare, who is also the co-founder and COO of Launchpeer, founded The Eves Collective to meet the unique needs of fellow women business owners in Charleston.
Says Hare, “Our goal goes beyond just providing a desk. We’re addressing the gaps in resources available for women entrepreneurs, especially as it pertains to mentorship and connections that can help their companies succeed.”
According to Inc., 48% of female founders cite a lack of available mentors or advisers as holding them back. That lack of support can lead to other entrepreneurial setbacks. In 2016, only 10% of startups which raised Series A venture capital had female founders.
Adds Hare, “We’re lucky to live in a city with lots of great women’s groups, but outside of networking events, where do women go on a daily basis to get advice from someone who has faced similar challenges, find potential collaborators, and grow their ventures? We’re here to be that home base.”
In addition to 24/7 access to the workspace and conference room, memberships also include access to podcasting and video production equipment, a community library, wifi, storage, unlimited coffee and tea, ample free parking, and a multi-functional sitting room for private mediation or relaxed small group gatherings. The Eves Collective also plans to host intentional networking opportunities and workshops in the coming months.
The space is conveniently located at 44 Markfield Drive in West Ashley, just 10 minutes from downtown Charleston and 5 minutes from Avondale. Those interested in joining are invited to attend an Open House on October 12th: RSVP here.
