Roadie helping Roadies: Crowdsourced delivery platform teams up with Crew Nation to help live music crews

This January, Roadie will donate $1 for every Large, X-Large or Huge Gig to Crew Nation, the global relief fund for live music crews

ATLANTA, Ga., Jan. 8, 2021 – Roadie wants to help live music crews impacted by the pandemic this January. The Atlanta-based crowdsourced delivery platform will make a $1 donation to Crew Nation for every Large, X-Large and Huge Gig delivered through its platform this month.*

Music crews have been hit hard by the pandemic – most live concerts have been canceled to prevent the spread of COVID-19. That’s where Crew Nation comes in. The fund, powered by the Music Forward Foundation, benefits music crews impacted by the pandemic.

“Music unites and inspires us. Whether you’re into Jimmy Buffett or Janelle Monae, The Weeknd or Willie Nelson, you can thank live music crews for bringing your favorite artists to life onstage,” said Roadie Founder and CEO Marc Gorlin. “We were so inspired by roadie culture that we named our company after it; it’s why deliveries on our platform are called ‘Gigs’ and it’s why we’re proud to step in and work with our customers to help give a little back.”

Roadie is the nation’s first nationwide crowdsourced delivery platform that works with consumers, small businesses and big global brands alike to facilitate same-day, local deliveries nationwide. Unlike other platforms that enable food and small package delivery, drivers on Roadie’s platform haul everything from kayaks to couches, paint to puppy food.

“The live industry was the first to close due to the pandemic, and will likely be one of the last to reopen, so the need for these out-of-work crew members is greater than ever,” said Nurit Smith, Executive Director, Music Forward Foundation. “Thank you to Roadie for pledging your support for Crew Nation, this commitment will go a long way to provide relief for many roadies through this temporary pause.”

Who can send something on Roadie’s platform? Anyone, said Gorlin.

“Need to borrow Mom’s vacuum cleaner or get a new stationary bike from across town? Roadie’s one of the quickest, easiest, socially-distant ways to make it happen. Consider us your friend with a truck – besides, your real friend with a truck is probably tired of getting paid in pizza and beer,” he added.

About Crew Nation
Live music inspires millions around the world, but the concerts we all enjoy wouldn’t be possible without the countless crew members working behind the scenes. As COVID-19 puts concerts on pause, we want to extend a helping hand to the touring and venue crews who depend on shows to make a living. Crew Nation was created to do just that.

Crew members are the backbone of the live music industry, and we hope you’ll join us in supporting them through this temporary intermission until we can once again unite millions around the world through the power of live music. Crew Nation is powered by Music Forward Foundation, a charitable 501c3 organization, that is administering and managing the fund.

Live Nation has committed $10 million to Crew Nation – contributing an initial $5 million to the fund, then matching the next $5 million given by artists, fans and employees dollar for dollar. Thanks for your support, and we look forward to seeing you at a show again soon. Learn more at: https://www.livenationentertainment.com/crewnation.
