Legal Tech Startup Case Status Raises $3.5 Million

Capitalizing on rapid customer adoption as law firms increase client focus and add mobile client communication

CHARLESTON: (January 14, 2022): Legal software company Case Status (a Wild Pitcher at DIG SOUTH Tech Summit), under the leadership of serial entrepreneur Andy Seavers, has received venture capital funding from Meeting Street Capital, Venture South, CreativeCo, Panoramic Ventures, and more.

Founded in 2018, Case Status created the leading mobile client portal and messaging platform for law firms. The cloud-based tool keeps clients up to date on their case status, while automating client workflows and streamlining communication. The Case Status client management platform can be used independently or can be integrated with a law firm’s online case management system. The company was founded by Charleston entrepreneur Andy Seavers, who now serves as the organization’s Chief Executive Officer, and partner attorney Lauren Sturdivant of Rising Tide Law, who aimed to improve client service for law firm clients through more frequent and standardized communication. Seavers has secured an additional $3.5M in funding to accelerate growth.

“Case Status’ innovative solution allows legal professionals to scale their practices while offering improved service to their clients. We are excited to partner with Andy and his team to further accelerate the company’s already impressive growth in a large, untapped market,” said Brad Braddock, Partner at lead investor, Meeting Street Capital. “In the same way that mobile banking changed the banking industry by giving clients real-time access to their bank statements, Case Status is changing the legal industry by giving clients real-time access to their case.” said Seavers

Case Status has expanded across the US and Canada, with a large majority of their customer base in the personal injury, mass tort, social security / disability and workers compensation space. Case Status continues to expand its footprint across many law firm practice areas such as immigration, insurance defence, family law, and more. Case Status has also expanded outside of the legal industry into other service-based businesses in areas such as veterans affairs, client service, senior living, and more.

Case Status is the leading mobile client portal and messaging platform for law firms. The company is based in Charleston, SC and began in 2018 as a part of the TechStars Atlanta Accelerator program. Case Status has now expanded across the US and Canada with a focus on becoming the de facto client management platform in the legal industry.
